I have been a Continental pilot since April 13, 1987. Having been a Captain since
1999, most recently, I have flown the B-756 and the B-737. Previously I was a First
Officer on the DC-10, A-300, and B-727, and Second Officer on the B-727. At 19 I
flew my first transport category jet, the Fokker F-28, as a First Officer for Pilgrim
Airlines. Other than participating in two short company offered leaves of absence
(1989 Braniff II and 1995 Tower Air) I have spent over half of my life working as
a pilot for Continental Airlines. Prior to beginning my career as a professional
pilot I attended Dowling College in Oakdale, New York.
My extensive union experience includes serving as the IACP Strike Committee Vice
Chairman during the Contract ‘97 campaign. In this position I campaigned tirelessly
to bring ALPA on to the Continental property. I served as the Newark Crew Room Lead
for the ALPA/IACP Merger Campaign for both Continental and Continental Express. During
the Contract ‘02 campaign, I was the SPC Vice Chairman – Strike Operations. In 2007,
I lead the SPSC Strike Preparedness sub-Committee. In this capacity I was responsible
for organizing the talented Strike Preparedness team that planned and flawlessly
executed the very successful March 12th Wall Street Picketing Event - the first time
our pilots had picketed in over ten years. The police officers in charge of overseeing
the event, along with the head of the security detail for the New York Stock Exchange,
told me that in all their years of observing picketing events, they had never seen
one as professionally run, well-organized, or executed with such military precision.
I believe that I can use my organizational skills, and the experience I gained from
planning the Wall Street Event to further your leverage for Contract ‘08
I am married with three children, and reside in Easton, PA.
